Bottega Veneta Home Store To Open Early 2013

Add Bottega Veneta to the list of companies that are becoming home decor obsessed.

The brand, most notable for fashion goods, will be opening a home-focused store in Los Angeles according to Women’s Wear Daily. Though the company already has furniture-only stores, this will be the first to sell home goods and accessories too.

The store will open early next year and is moving into a spot on Melrose Place that has high-end neighboring shops such as Carolina Herrera, Chloé and Oscar de la Renta.

And while there will be a strong sense of home, don’t expect this to be like other furnishing stores. Tomas Maier, the brand’s creative director said there may be a coat or handbag sighting at the shop also. "There will be a very strong representation of home but that doesn’t mean that Melrose won’t have a very edited group of bags that work with the whole idea, or that coat or typical Bottega dress as well, he said. "We’ve learned over the past 12 years that the customer for a handbag can be the customer for stemware or an upholstered chair or so on.”

Ain't that the truth?
