Chicago Horror Movies: Moments From 9 Scary Flicks Shot In The Windy City

From mega blockbusters like "The Dark Knight" to scores of romantic hits, Chicago is well-represented on the silver screen. Though Chicagoans prefer to think of their home's stunning skyline or gorgeous architecture, the Windy City and surrounding areas have also been the setting for some of Hollywood's most frightening films, including the disturbing "Candyman" and the killer doll nightmare-fest, "Child's Play."

While some of the iconic buildings and neighborhoods are familiar worldwide (the John Hancock building, anyone?) other major movie sites won't be featured on a tourism brochure anytime soon. It's fun to spot where the Blues Brother's tore through town or the site of Bruce Wayne's penthouse, but do you really want to know about human gobbling spirits in The Field Museum?

Just in time for Halloween, HuffPost Chicago has rounded up nine horror films shot or based in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. With Halloween a few days away, you can decide whether to hang around these haunts for a good scare, or superstitiously skip these locales altogether.
