Chicago Horror Movies: Moments From 9 Scary Flicks Shot In The Windy City

WATCH: 9 Frightening Flicks Filmed Or Based In Chicago

From mega blockbusters like "The Dark Knight" to scores of romantic hits, Chicago is well-represented on the silver screen. Hollywood Horror Scenes Set In Chicago

While some of the iconic buildings and neighborhoods are familiar worldwide (the John Hancock building, anyone?) other major movie sites won't be featured on a tourism brochure anytime soon. Just in time for Halloween, HuffPost Chicago has rounded up nine horror films shot or based in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. With Halloween a few days away, you can decide whether to hang around these haunts for a good scare, or superstitiously skip these locales altogether.
