Giants Celebration Photos: World Series Triumph Sparks Champagne Party In Clubhouse

LOOK: Giants Celebrate World Series Win

In the aftermath of the San Francisco Giants' sweep of the Detroit Tigers in the World Series, the fire and brimstone of Hunter Pence's pre-game sermons gave way to euphoria and champagne in the visitors' clubhouse at Comerica Park.

"World Series champions!" the Giants' outfielder hollered amidst the revelry, via The Associated Press.

With the Giants holding a commanding 3-0 lead at the start Game 4, the bubbly was on ice and the Commissioner's Trophy was in the house when Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer threw out the first pitch in the top of the first inning. After a third inning home run by Miguel Cabrera gave the Tigers their first lead off the series, it appeared that there would be no party in Motown (or in San Francisco) on Sunday night.

With some help from a Buster Posey home run, the resilient Giants rebuffed the Tigers' bid to extend the series. After Marco Scutaro drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth it was up to closer Sergio Romo to close out the franchise's second title since moving to San Francisco. He retired Austin Jackson and Don Kelly to open the bottom of the tenth and then locked up the Triple Crown winner with a called third strike.

And then the party began!
