The federal government and all school systems from Fredericksburg to D.C. are closed Monday in anticipation of super storm Sandy.
Schools in Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Stafford, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Culpeper, Falls Church, Alexandria and Arlington, Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania are all closed Monday, and many are also closed Tuesday. The campuses of George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College are also closed.
The Office of Personnel Management closed the federal government in Washington for Monday. Manassas City government is allowing non-essential employees liberal leave.
Virginia Railway Express won't run Monday and Amtrak service in the Northeast has been canceled. Metro rail and bus service won't operate Monday and PRTC buses are not running either.

The National Weather Service updated it's high wind warning for the region late Sunday, calling for winds to begin at 8 a.m. and gusts up to 70 mph during the height of the storm, expected to be Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Forecasters say wind gusts over 45 mph are expected to spread over the area after noon on Monday. Gusts up to 70 mph are expected Monday night through the day Tuesday.
Expect significant tree damage and power and communications outages.
A flood watch also remains in effect through Tuesday and a coastal flood warning for the tidal Potomac River was issued Sunday evening.
Sandy remained a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph on Sunday morning as she skirted the coast of South Carolina.
