After a very public cheating scandal in September 2012, country music star Jason Aldean stepped out with his wife of 11 years, Jessica Ussery, at the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Thursday.
In late September, TMZ published photographs of Aldean kissing American Idol hopeful and NBA cheerleader Brittany Kerr at The Den -- a West Hollywood bar located on the Sunset Strip. The following day, he issued a public apology on his Facebook page, copping to the fact that he "acted inapproprately," but also noting that he left the bar alone that night.
Kerr also apologized for the indiscretion, but it didn't do much good. The Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader had to delete her Twitter account after receiving nasty messages from angry Aldean fans. Kerr has since received an offer from British production company Wag TV to star in her own reality series, though it's unknown whether or not she has accepted.
A week after the scandal broke, Aldean opened up about his home life on "CMT Insider". "The main thing is that me and my family are OK and everything's good there," he said. "So I think it's been a tough deal. But I kind of said what I needed to say to them, and hopefully they understand that and the rest of it will be us dealing with it in private and trying to fix it. It's good, though."
Aldean certainly isn't the first country music superstar to be caught canoodling with someone other than his lawfully wedded wife (or husband!). Click through the slideshow below to see more on Aldean and four other country stars that have reportedly cheated on their spouses.
After nearly eight years of marriage, LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet separated in 2009 amid reports of Rimes' affair with Eddie Cibrian -- her co-star from the 2009 Lifetime movie "Northern Lights." Rimes' divorce from Sheremet was finalized in June 2010 and the country singer married Cibrian in April of the following year.
Alan Jackson admitted to having an affair in 1998 -- almost 20 years into his marriage to his high school sweetheart, Denise Jackson. The pair separated for four months and took part in couples therapy before reconciling later that year. In December 1998, they renewed their vows and have been happily married since. The Jacksons have three daughters -- Mattie, Ali and Dani.
While still married to his first wife, Vivian Liberto, country music icon Johnny Cash began an affair with country singer June Carter -- who was also married at the time. Liberto filed for divorce in 1966 after 12 years of marriage. Cash famously proposed to Carter on stage during a live performance in London, Ontario, Canada in 1968. The couple has one son together and were married until June died in May 2003. Cash died four months later in September 2003.
In late September 2012, Jason Aldean was caught kissing Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader and former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr in a bar on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip (click here for photos). Aldean apologized for his misstep on Facebook stating: "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself." The "Dirt Road Anthem" singer married his high school sweetheart, Jessica Ussery (pictured above), in 2001. The couple has two daughters together -- Keeley, 9, and Kendyl, 5.
Rumors circulated throughout the 90s that Garth Brooks was having an affair with his now-wife and fellow country star Trisha Yearwood while he was still married to Sandy Mahl. Indeed, in a 1993 interview with Barbara Walters, Garth admitted to cheating on Mahl during their marriage, though he did not specify with who. After three children and 15 years of marriage, Garth and Mahl parted ways and finalized their divorce in 2001. Brooks and Yearwood married at their home in Oklahoma in 2005.
