Bulls superstar Derrick Rose's debut ad for deep-dish pioneers Giordano's Pizza debuted Thursday -- and offered insight into the eating habits of the NBA's sidelined youngest-ever MVP.

In the ad, Rose says he "wouldn't say he loves it as much as basketball, but it's pretty close" of the pizza chain's iconic slice, which he dubs "real Chicago pizza."

"Pizza is my number-one food," Rose continues in the spot. "If it were up to my trainers, I'd be eating salads and vegetables and all that stuff but it's my diet. Just give me some good cheese pizza like Giordano's and I'm good."

Earlier this fall, Rose was introduced as the chain's new spokesman. He is now an equity partner of the company, which was founded in 1974 and ships its popular pies nationwide.

While it's Rose's pizza of choice, Giordano's was outpaced in GQ magazine's recent ranking of the nation's most "life-changing" pizzas. Local rivals -- Gino's East and Lou Malnati's -- both ranked among the top five slices in the country.
