Erica Hill Welcomed By 'Today' Show (VIDEO)

'Today' Welcomes Erica Hill

The newest member to join the "Today" show was welcomed by her colleagues on Friday's show.

Erica Hill, the anchor who formerly co-hosted "CBS This Morning" alongside Charlie Rose and Gayle King, officially joined NBC News earlier this week. She will co-anchor the weekend edition of "Today" on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

"It's such an honor to have you here. Welcome," Savannah Guthrie said.

Hill said she was "getting choked up" while she was being welcomed by Guthrie, Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Natalie Morales.

"I feel so honored and humbled to join this family. It's such an incredible tradition...To be a part of NBC News and to be a part of the 'Today' show and to spend my weekends with Lester Holt, it doesn't get much better than that," Hill said.

Holt joked that that the program has a tradition of welcoming new hosts with a large concert, pointing to the Aerosmith concert behind him in the "Today" show plaza.

Roker interjected with a somewhat awkward addition. "Yeah, right before the spanking comes," he said.

"That one not so much," Hill responded.
