'Very Bad Men' Profiles 'The Bayou Strangler'

"Very Bad Men" told the story of Ronald Dominique, who investigators described as the most prolific serial killer in recent US history. He was also known as "The Bayou Strangler."

Dominique terrorized southern Louisiana, raping and killing at least 23 young men between 1999 and 2006, when he was arrested. After a potential victim escaped, police were able to connect Dominique to the crimes. Still, his crimes are widely unknown.

"It's astounding to me that twenty-three souls could've been violently taken from this earth, and the rest of the world doesn't know about it," said reporter Dee Dee Thurston.

Sheriff Craig Webre described Dominque as an unassuming guy. "He looks like he would be just an odd guy who lives in a trailer by himself and delivers pizza."

Dominique confessed to all 23 known murders and received eight consecutive life sentences behind bars without the chance of parole.

The bizarre case was turned into the 2011 documentary "Bayou Blue: The Serial Killer the Country Ignored."
