DCWEEK Events Continue This Week

WASHINGTON -- DCWEEK, aka Digital Capital Week Festival 2012, the annual conference of designers, developers, entrepreneurs, social innovators and curious Web-savvy folks has five more days of programming. Overshadowed by the election, some interesting happenings deserve consideration of your non-political agendas this week. Monday, November 5
Benevolent Media Pitch Night at nclud
Aspiring media creators will give three-minute presentations for their next big idea. Fifteen hopefulls will try to impress a panel of judges and audience members for a chance to win $2,000. 6:30 p.m., all ages, $15 includes beer, wine, specialty cocktails, treats

iPad and iOs Accessibility Training and Imagining Session (and maybe Android) at Adaptive Services Division, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library

Wednesday, November 7
DCWEEK Keynotes at Warner Theater
This is one of the bigger events. Mayor Vincent Gray will open the evening. Brian McClary (Social and Emerging Media Analyst for the Ford Motor Company), Travis Kalanick (Uber CEO), Emily Brew (Formerly of the NIKE Foundation, co-creater of the Girl Effect) and Robin Chase (Buzz Car (founder of ZipCar) and CEO of Buzzcar) will speak to a room of 2,000. 7 p.m., all ages, no cover but registration is required

Thursday, November 8
Ask An Investor at Artisphere
Five seasoned investors will participate in a panel and answer an extensive Q and A. See if your next big thing has a chance. 1 p.m., all ages, gold or VIP badge required, badges are $150 and $250

Friday, November 9
Story Innovation: Transmedia, Web Cinema, and Participatory Storytelling at Affinity Lab
If you have a good story, why not make it better. This session is hosted by Felicia Pride of Pride Collaborative and The Create Daily. 10 a.m., all ages, no cover
