In the Georgia election on Tuesday, Mitt Romney is favored over Barack Obama in the race for the state's 16 electoral votes.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Friday that more than 1.6 million voters participated in early voting prior to Election Day.
Obama came up short in 2008 in the Peach State, which was won by then-Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
In Georgia, the polls are open between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. If an individual is in line to cast a ballot when 7:00 p.m. rolls around, he or she will be permitted to do so.
