Hellman-Heller Mansion, San Francisco Historic House, Hits The Market Again At Major Discount (PHOTOS)

Own A Piece Of SF History -- At A $5 Million Discount

The Huffington Post first reported about the Hellman-Heller Mansion hitting the market back in 2011, when the estate (which served as the temporary Wells Fargo headquarters after the 1906 earthquake) was listed for $20 million. But if there was ever actually a time to buy this beast, that time is now.

The price on the seven-bedroom, 11,500-square-foot historic home at 2020 Jackson Street has now dropped to $14,900,000--a dizzying plummet of more than 25 percent. What's more, the estate was the site of the 2012 San Francisco Decorator showcase. So any doubts about what a serious designer could do with the place have surely been dashed.

To recap, the four-level house was built by banker Isaias Hellman in 1902, and was later a wedding gift to his daughter. In 1945, the home served as the venue for an international conference that led to the creation of the United Nations. And now, the place has hosted not one, but two San Francisco Decorator Showcase events. It's a regular old slice of San Francisco.

History aside, the house also has a few other charms, including two kitchens, a reception hall, seven fireplaces, master bedrooms and dressing suites, a wine cellar, a media room and outdoor and rooftop terraces with staggering views of San Francisco and the Bay.
