Rep. Shelly Berkley (D-Nev.) lost to Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), the Associated Press projected Wednesday morning.
Berkley had been dogged by an ethics investigation that she faces in the House of Representatives. Heller was appointed to fill the seat of Republican Sen. John Ensign, who resigned after admitting an extramarital affair with a campaign staffer and a Senate ethics probe.
