Demi Lovato and Britney Spears sit together at the "X Factor" judges' table, but we imagine it might be somewhat daunting for the 20-year-old "Give Your Heart a Break" singer to compete with her childhood idol.
Lovato recently revealed at the MTV Video Music Awards that the first album she ever got was a Spears release.
But at a party for Season 2 finalists this week, Lovato told People magazine that Britney is "really cool to hang out with."
"What surprised me the most about Britney is that she's actually really quirky," she continued. "You kind of expect a legendary pop star [to] sometimes [be], like, a diva or something, but she's really not. She's a sweet, down-to-earth, Southern girl."
And Spears, 30, has said that she values Lovato's opinions. "She toughens me up!" Spears told TV Guide in August. "Sometimes I listen to [her] and I'm like, 'Oh, God, I've got be a little stronger.'"
In fact, we might even see a future duet between the two pop stars. In a recent interview with PopSugar, Lovato said that she "would love" to record a song with Spears. However, we admit the potential collaboration we're most excited about involves Spears, a tiger, an elephant and Mario Lopez as a backup dancer.
