Barack Obama may have prevailed in this week's election, but he's not the only one who emerged a winner: Nate Silver, the statistician who writes the New York Times's FiveThirtyEight blog impressed the nation with his predictions. He was so good, in fact, that the site IsNateSilverAWitch.com had to update its answer to "Probably."
Silver also got a lot of attention from women on Twitter. "Dear Nate Silver: Should I go blonde?" asked Mary Beth Williams, implying that his skills might come in handy in other situations of uncertainty. Kate Spencer had a similar idea: "Ben Affleck emailing Nate Silver right now, asking him if Argo's gonna win Best Picture." And Jess was one of the many people who used the hashtag #natesilverfacts to illustrate Silver's accuracy: "Nate Silver knows exactly how many roads a man must walk down #natesilverfacts."
