The world was abuzz when Duke University researchers honored pop singer Lady Gaga by naming a newly identified genus of ferns after her. But long before “Gaga monstraparva” and "Gaga germanotta” there was Rose Freddie Mercury and Iris Cher, named for those celebs, respectively. In fact, there are many celebrities such as Paul McCartney, Ingrid Bergman and Tina Turner, who have been given this special recognition.
