WASHINGTON -- Like you need another reason to watch a 24/7 kitten livestream.

Animal Planet's Too Cute Kitten Cam will feature more than just cute kittens on Monday.

Washington Animal Rescue League behavior and training expert Lisa Stemcosky will also be online for a live chat, starting at noon.

Meantime, check out WARL's Kitten Cam furball stars doing what kittens do -- mostly sleeping, sometimes sometimes charming their ways into new forever families.

  • Lincoln

Lincoln is a 6-month-old, spunky beagle. The Montgomery County Humane Society's staff trainer describes him as well mannered, playful and friendly. He’s great with all people and would make a terrific family pet. Find out more from the Montgomery County Humane Society -- ask for him using Tag #235, ID #A368098.

  • Maurice

Maurice is a very lovey dovey 5-year-old kitty who will give you his affection. Maurice is comfortable with all adults and older kids and likes to be held. He'’ll be a little nervous once he first meets you, but once he’'s used to you he'’ll give you all his love! Find out more from the Montgomery County Humane Society, using ID #A314865.

  • Schnookums

Is Schnookums cute or what?! Okay, maybe she’s not a classic beauty, but with her appealing underbite and big round eyes, this 4-year-old Pekinese mix is undeniably appealing. Schnookums arrived at the Washington Animal Rescue League from a partner shelter in South Carolina, where she was given up because her owners could no longer afford to care for her. A true southern diva, this little girl likes being the center of attention so she’s looking for a mature, one-dog family…with her being the one dog. She’ll return the favor by giving you a lifetime of affection.

  • Onion

Onion is a friendly, year and a half-old guinea pig eager to become part of your family. He gets along great with kids of all ages and other animals, especially other guinea pigs. Onion can be a bit shy at times but he’s used to being handled and likes to be played with. Take him home today! Find out more from the Montgomery County Humane Society, using ID #A367604.

  • Quirky

Quirky is a 6-year-old pug/shepherd mix. In the world of exotic hybrids that would make her a “pugherd” or a “shug.” In any case, she’s a sweet, gentle, somewhat shy, medium-sized girl who craves human attention and affection. She’ll climb right into your lap and give you kisses with her little blue tongue. Quirky is one of nine dogs taken in by the Washington Animal Rescue League in partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare and the ASPCA after severe flooding in Mississippi following Hurricane Isaac caused an overload on the shelter system there. Like many dogs rescued from the South, Quirky is heartworm positive. Her exercise is currently being limited while she undergoes treatment, but once it’s complete, she can be active as she wants to be. Quirky is looking for a calm, loving home -- without other dogs -- where she can get all the attention she so richly deserves.

  • Jet

Jet is a 4 year old, loving, sometimes energetic, 45 lb spayed female Black Lab/Mix, who loves to be around her people. She gets along great with other dogs and is an excellent companion. Here is her Petfinder listing. Jet loves to play with another dog or you, has medium energy and always wants to be in the same room with you; another true Velcro Companion Pup. She loves to ride in the car and will just lay or look out the window. She wants to be a lap dog and sometimes does get into the recliner with us. Jet could benefit from obedience training but she is getting better about following basic commands. She knows how to sit, lay down and come but is still working on stay. She loves to be in the house and is completely housebroken. Leaving her for a few hours would not be a problem. She would do well with older children as well as a family where she could get exercise to keep her fit. She will make an excellent family pet and give you many years of companionship. To meet Jet, e-mail her foster parent at hickmank@yahoo.com.

  • Thunder

Thunder the cat is available for adoption through the Washington Humane Society -- here's his Petfinder listing.

  • Doe

“Doe, a deer, a female deer…” Well, her face may look a bit like that of a deer, but the Doe currently residing at the Washington Animal Rescue League certainly isn’t built like one. With her long, short-legged body, we’re guessing one of her ancestors must have been a basset hound. And we can say with certainty that she’s adorable! When Doe arrived, she was sweet but a bit timid; today, thanks to the companionship of more outgoing shelter residents, this 1-year-old has blossomed into a happy, outgoing girl. Doe is looking for a loving adult home—perhaps with another friendly dog. Could that be yours?

  • Messenger

Messenger is a 4-year-old Siberian husky mix who was rescued along with 22 other dogs from a South Carolina puppy mill where more than 200 dogs of various breeds and ages were found living in deplorable conditions. Like most puppy mill survivors, Messenger is timid but also very sweet. She just needs a loving home where her true personality can blossom. Because she is currently being treated for heartworm, Messenger is on a restricted exercise regime at the Washington Animal Rescue League. But once her treatment is complete, she’ll be ready for a more active lifestyle.

  • Manny

Affectionate and laid back, this is a sweet boy! It takes this adult cat, now at the Washington Humane Society, a while to adjust to new people and situations, but if you give him a chance, he will show you what a darling boy he is. Here is his Petfinder listing. This kitty loves affection so much he starts to drool when you pet him! He would do best in a home without children but can live with other cats of the right match. If you are looking for quiet companion, this cat may be just the one for you!

  • Butterscotch

Butterscotch is a young, 2-3 year old, male, yellow Labrador retriever rescued from a shelter in rural North Carolina where his time had run out. He's available for adoption through City Dogs Rescue. His owner abandoned him at the pound claiming that he wouldn't gain weight. He is 62 pounds and should be 85-90 pounds. It turns out that he needed treatment for worms. As you can see, he is still very thin but is back on track and will soon be back to a normal weight. He's very loving and playful. Butterscotch is a great, all-around dog just looking for his very own forever home and human to love. Won't you apply to adopt this sweet pup soon?

  • Krystie

This little kitty has a lot of love to give. Krystie came into the Washington Humane Society with her brothers and sisters and she's an absolute pick of the litter. Here's her Petfinder listing. With her gorgeous green eyes, big ears and a soft black coat, this cat would make a loving companion in any home. She is a bit shy, but once she gets used to you, she's a great kitty. She loves to sit behind us when we are on the desktop computer. And is the only kitty her foster parents have ever had that likes belly rubs. She loves to play with the laser light, and chases her mom, who still lives with her foster family. Krystie would make a wonderful addition to any household. She would like nothing better than to meet her forever family! To meet her, contact Trish at mintrish@gmail.com.

  • Charlie

Charlie is an affectionate male, orange tabby, approximately 2-years-old, with pretty orange and white fur in a faint striped pattern, gorgeous green eyes, and cute little freckles on his nose and gums. Here is Charlie's Petfinder listing. He showed up at his foster family's door a few months ago looking for love. Charlie loves attention, frequently announcing himself when he enters a room with a little meow. He purrs like a lawnmower and loves to climb on laps. He's a playful, happy cat, but is still a bit nervous around strangers. To meet him, contact Laura at llgentile@yahoo.com.

  • Dusty

Dusty is ready to step in to any home. This young boy is gentle, affectionate and loves attention. If you sit still long enough he will always find his way to your lap. Here is Dusty's Petfinder listing. Dusty has beautiful big green eyes and a gorgeous fluffy tail that he sports like a peacock when he's happy. He is currently living with three cats and two dogs. He loves his roommates but he does like his alone time so he might be just as comfortable being the only four legged critter in the house. Give this no drama cat a home and get ready for the purrs. To meet Dusty, please contact his foster at 920-570-2481 or shoulderclod@gmail.com.
