Chef Eddie Huang Shows The Seedy Side Of Taiwan (VIDEO)

WATCH: Taiwan's Seedy Side

A new video series from Vice follows chef Eddie Huang as he explores the dark and sketchy underbelly of Taiwan. In this clip, the hipster favorite shows off betel nut chewing, the explicit treats of a typical night market and the somewhat sad side of late-night "shrimping" at an indoor fishing pond.

The episode is certainly weird and risque -- anatomically correct desserts are probably unique to Taiwan -- but Huang does manage to illuminate a rarely seen side of the island, which doesn't get enough credit for its strange eccentricity.

Two more installments are coming up in the next two weeks.

The video features some adult language and images that may not be appropriate for all readers.
