PHOTOS: Local Fall Foliage On Brilliant Display

WASHINGTON -- Although the nation's capital largely escaped significant damage from Hurricane Sandy, after the storm passed, it certainty looked like autumn had been washed away into the cold, damp depths of a rainy January.

It was cloudy and cold as we were cooped up inside for days.

But after D.C. dried out and the sun came out, many of the city's trees kept their foliage. And this weekend's beautiful sunny weather conditions provided a perfect chance to get out and enjoy the local scenery.
