Living through cancer can be a traumatic experience, even if you are able to overcome it. Dr. Gail Saltz, psychiatrist, spoke about dealing with the anxiety associated with a cancer diagnosis when she met with me on Mondays With Marlo. Just like any other anxiety, you'll need to engage in coping mechanisms and use techniques like muscle relaxation and deep breathing. You may also consider trying psychotherapy, as there are therapists who specialize in dealing with post-cancer stress.
