Blazers Take The Stress Out Of This Commuter's Work Wardrobe (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

Dana Oliver, our beauty editor, has a thing for blazers. Such a thing, in fact, that she can't count how many she owns. When I asked her about her ever-expanding collection, she had this to say: "I think it's because my mom's a school teacher. They remind me of growing up with her in the '80s -- she had a lot of blazers. Also, since I'm so narrow, I love the shape of a structured jacket, especially if they have subtle shoulder pads. I want curves, so I fake them by layering sweaters and jackets."

We understand the appreciation for a blazer -- we have a few in our own closets. But, Dana brought nine to the photo shoot, and had more to spare at home. We asked her how she doesn't duplicate when she's out shopping and she told us her trick: "I hate shopping in big, crowded stores. I love Zara because I know that if I see something on a designer runway that I like, Zara will have it shortly thereafter. So I can focus: I walk in, buy the chosen jacket and I'm done. That way, I know I'm not buying something that I already have."

Dana commutes to The Huffington Post offices here in New York City from Philadelphia, and blazers help take the stress out of getting dressed. She said, "Blazers and statement necklaces are my signature. I can throw on a blazer and instantly feel polished, even if I just got off a two-hour cramped bus ride."

Check out Dana as we styled her up in a bevy of blazers.
