In the wake of Election Night's historic lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) related victories, Seattle-based hip-hop artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took to VH1 to perform "Same Love," their impassioned plea for marriage equality.

"I might not be the same, but that's not important," Macklemore rhymes in the track, which also features Mary Lambert on backing vocals. "No freedom 'til we're equal, damn right I support it."

Of "Same Love," which debuted to great acclaim in July, Macklemore noted, "It was not easy to write. I struggled with how I, as a straight male, could genuinely speak upon this issue."
