Shackles From 17th Century Witch Prison On 'Deals From The Darkside'

The dark entry into the world of reality shows about finding value in objects found a connection to witchcraft. On the latest episode of "Deals From the Darkside," Steve Santini was checking out some thick shacles that were said to be from the infamous Bamberg Witches Prison in Germany.

It was a secret prison where people thought to be witches were tortured and killed. The building is no longer standing, making relics like these shackles the last remnants of this dark history.

Santini took the shackles to a woman who claimed she could feel the emotions left on objects by people, and she was left in darkness after touching them.

"There’s no hope," she said, "And I don’t think I’ve ever handled anything that there wasn’t at least some hope.”

It was a $3,000 purchase for Santini, but a blacksmith told him if the same pieces were made today, they’d be worth ten times that. Add to that their historical significance and age, and that figure only rises.

See what other dark relics from the past are unearthed on "Deals From the Darkside," Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Syfy.
