Anthony Perry, Black Friday Shopper, Allegedly Leaves Two-Year Old In Car To Buy A TV

Some people will do anything for a good deal.

Anthony Perry, a Springfield, Mass. man, allegedly left his girlfriend’s two-year-old son alone in a car at about 1:30 a.m. Friday so he could go into a Kmart and buy a 51-inch screen TV, WCVB reports. Perry could be charged with reckless endangerment to a child, police say.

The boy was found in the store's parking lot and police were forced to break into Perry's car to retrieve the child, WWLP reports. Police later found Perry at his home with his TV; it's still unclear how Perry made it home without the car he drove to Kmart in, police told WWLP.

Perry is denying the claims, saying he took the boy into the store and the boy got lost, according to WWLP.

Black Friday is known as much for the stories of obsessive shoppers going to extreme measures as it is for its deals. In perhaps one of the most tragic Black Friday episodes, a stampede at a Long Island Walmart in 2008 turned deadly for one employee, according to the New Yorker.

This year the madness started earlier than ever; Walmart and Toys R Us opened their doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and Target opened at 9 p.m.

As of early Friday morning there were already reports of a man pulling a gun at a San Antonio, Texas, Sears after someone cut him in line. An Orlando woman was arrested for allegedly throwing merchandise at Walmart.

Last year in Little Rock, Arkansas, a $2 waffle maker sparked a riot that went viral after it was caught on camera. In addition, a Los Angeles woman reportedly pepper sprayed shoppers trying to grab Xboxes.
