In a special holiday episode of "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's," the cast speaks out on what it's been like making the hit OWN docu-series.

In discussing how the TV show came to be, Tim Norman -- now the manager of his mom's St. Louis restaurants, Sweetie Pie's and Sweetie Pie's at the Mangrove -- reveals that upon leaving prison and observing his mother, Miss Robbie Montgomery, at work, he told her: "Mom, you crazy. Somebody needs to film this." Next thing they knew, Tim had filmed a "sizzle reel" -- a short video to show TV networks when pitching an idea for a series. What happened next surprised everyone.

"I really didn't believe it when I first got the text," Tim recalls. "[It said] 'Someone just bought your TV show.... Oprah bought your TV show.' That's just, like, unbelievable… that it would be anything associated with Oprah Winfrey, that's like, you can't imagine that!"

Find out what else the cast has to say about the ups and downs of living out their family and business dramas on television in the "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" holiday special airing Saturday, Nov. 24, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
