Cheryl Grampa, Former Broward Teacher, Loses License After Alleged Inappropriate Massages

Teacher Loses License After Inappropriate Behavior

A Broward elementary school teacher who allegedly solicited inappropriate favors from her students is now without a license.

Just before Thanksgiving Florida's Education Practices Commission formally revoked Cheryl Grampa's teaching certification after investigations found she let students massage her in exchange for rewards between 2009 and 2010.

After the school district filed a compliant last year, superintendent James Notter had initially recommended suspension for Grampa, CBS 4 reports, as well as classroom management training.

The 46-year-old Cooper City teacher taught for 12 years until she abruptly resigned in December 2011. The Sun Sentinel reports Grampa's leave came after district investigators found she allowed the repeated indiscretions to continue, including an incident where a male student touched her breasts and genitalia.

Grampa is one among many teachers caught in the act of making inappropriate liaisons the norm in their classroom.

New Jersey "Teacher of the Year" Erica DePalo was fired and arrested in August after she allegedly had sexual relations with a 15-year-old student.

Earlier that month, Texas teacher and mother of three Brittni Colleps was brought up on charges she had group sex with five teenaged students.

Most recently, a Singapore teacher was arrested after she allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old.
