When you give kids pencils, paper and free rein to express their feelings, their creations can be startling, heartwarming and hilarious. And when the assignment is to create a portrait of mommy, the results are predictably off-the-wall.

It all started when Jill Smokler of Scary Mommy shared a likeness of herself drawn by her son, remarking upon the "uncanny" resemblance between the face in the picture and a certain reality-show matriarch.

Smokler then asked her Facebook followers to join in by posting their own kids' mom-portrait artwork ("awful" drawings preferred), and they obliged -- with pictures that show everything from a cat-woman lookalike and a potential "Walking Dead" understudy to an (inexplicably) nine-breasted wonder.
