Octomom's Kids' Performance At Charity Event Canceled

'Roctuplets' Performance At Charity Event Has Been Canceled

Nadya "Octomom" Suleman and her octuplets were looking forward to performing at a charity concert for "The Ruth Moore LAUSD Christmas Party and Giveaway" on Dec. 17 in Los Angeles. But now the offer has been withdrawn, with conflicting reasons as to why.

"They canceled them," Nadya's spokesperson, who confirmed that Nadya and her children had been booked through an organization called the School Tour, told The Huffington Post. "They said it's because the amount of press coverage and that they were worried too many kids would show up!"

However, an explanation from representatives of the organization, including executive director Michelle Sanders, suggests the situation is more complicated.

"At this time there are no plans for Octomom's 'Roctuplets' singing group to appear at the 47th Annual Ruth Moore Christmas Party for underprivileged children in Los Angeles on December 17,” Bob Fisher, the organization's public relations counsel told The Huffington Post. "There was an initial contact by the group's representative with a volunteer working on the holiday event regarding an appearance but nothing has been finalized at this time. Should this situation change, an official announcement would be made by the nonprofit organization."

Neither Fisher nor Sanders would comment when asked if Nadya and her children had been dropped because of outside pressure over possible controversy surrounding the family.

Now Nadya and her children are looking to perform for a different charity organization, one that Nadya's spokesperson hopes "will welcome them with open arms."
