Scott Baio Talks 'See Dad Run' And How He Survived Child Stardom (VIDEO)

Scott Baio On His New Sitcom, Surviving Child Stardom

Former child star Scott Baio, best known for his roles on “Happy Days,” "Joanie Loves Chachi" and "Charles In Charge," is making a TV comeback on a Nick at Nite sitcom called "See Dad Run."

Baio stopped by “Anderson Live” Tuesday to talk about how he made it through life as a child star and to discuss his new family comedy. He credited his parents with helping him avoid the temptations that often accompany fame at such a young age. "Simple answer: my mom and dad. They kept my head square and I never had any interest in any drugs ever. I've never done a drug in my life," Baio said.

Baio also discussed his new sitcom "See Dad Run," in which he plays a bizarro version of himself. On the show, Baio's character is transitioning from being a TV actor to a stay-at-home dad. In real life, Baio is doing the reverse.

“Guys are a little more confused about parenting than moms are,” Baio told The New York Daily News. “I’m just sort of guessing most of the time when I’m with my kid and hope I’m doing it right. I know my child, but this guy on ‘See Dad Run’ doesn’t really know his children.”
