Christina Aguilera Thanks Gay Fans For Longtime Support

Christina Aguilera: 'I Am Forever Indebted' To My Gay Fans

Her all-inclusive 2002 ballad "Beautiful" became an anthem for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community -- and now, Christina Aguilera is thanking those fans for that longtime support.

"I cannot be more thankful for the support over the years from the community," the pop diva, who is currently promoting her new album "Lotus," tells The Advocate. "Even when I felt I couldn’t stand, they held me up and supported me. I think we can each related to each other and I am forever indebted."

Aguilera, 31, hopes her LGBT fanbase will similarly embrace "Lotus," which has so far received mixed reviews. She describes one track, "Army of Me," as a song written for "people that are maybe misunderstood or don’t fit into the norm, but deserve a voice."
