Corey Lamont Walker Allegedly Killed Roommate Anthony Kimball Smith Over Missing Corn Dog

Man Accused Of Killing Roommate Over Missing Corn Dog

A Florida man is behind bars for allegedly stabbing his roommate to death after becoming enraged that someone ate his corn dogs.

Police say that Corey Lamont Walker, 36, confessed to murdering Anthony Kimball Smith with a butcher knife because his stash of processed meat on a stick was missing, the Broward-Palm Beach New Times reports.

"It's hard to imagine someone taking a life over something so trivial," police spokesman Mike Puetz said, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Authorities were summoned on Tuesday around 9:45 a.m. to the transitional living residence in St. Petersburg where Walker and Smith lived along with four other roommates. The caller said there had been a stabbing and that the suspect was still armed and in the home.

"It appears that somebody pilfered a corn dog from him," Puetz added. "He was the only one there with corn dogs."

Initially, Walker accused a different roommate of stealing his food, but then decided to attack Smith.

The knife used in the alleged stabbing was recovered in the kitchen sink, according to StPetePatch.

Police arrested Walker on a charge of second-degree murder. He is held on $500,000 bond.
