Yan Pei-Ming's Paris Studio: Above Live Gives A Sneak Peek Into Chinese Artist's Work Space (VIDEO)

A Peek Inside Yan Pei-Ming's Paris Studio

In the run-up to Art Basel Miami, sustainable living blog "Above" is toasting the innovative fair with a recap of artists that echo their environmentally-friendly views. Their most recent video offers a sneak peek into the Paris studio of Chinese artist, Yan Pei-Ming. Known for his giant portraits of Mao Zedong, the graduate of École des Beaux-Arts sat down with Above correspondent Tina Isaac to discuss the artist's animal-themed paintings, apocalyptic attitude and humble beginnings in his home country.

The interview is full of Yan Pei-Ming's bon mots, such as: "A man looking at a painting is like a man looking in the mirror."
