'The X Factor' Double Elimination: Vino Alan, Paige Thomas Sent Home (VIDEO)

This deep into the competition, there is always the chance of a shocking elimination on "The X Factor." And with their second double-elimination in a row, it came as no surprise that this week offered a real shocker. First up, Paige Thomas was eliminated with no chance to sing for her survival. While she'd been a fan and judge favorite, she'd also often been told her vocals weren't up to the level of her star quality.

Later in the broadcast, the bottom two of the remaining seven acts was revealed. It pitted Diamond White against Vino Alan. As "The X Factor" has been revealing the ranks of the contestants each week, based on America's votes, these results were a genuine shocker. White has been toward the middle of the pack throughout the season, but Alan has been in third place every single week.

This time around, though, he found himself having to sing to stay alive, and he did so by reprising his audition song, "Trouble." But it didn't keep him out of trouble. Only his mentor L.A. Reid voted to save him, and he was cut from the competition.

Was that last minute song change what did the early front-runner in? Only six remain as "The X Factor" moves on, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
