Your 2013 Golden Globes Nominees

The 2013 Golden Globes Nominations have been announced, and a familiar slate of actors, actresses, films and TV shows have earned the honor. Nominees include Daniel Day Lewis' "Lincoln," "Les Miserables" and "Homeland."

"Les Miserables" was on the receiving end of multiple nods, including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. "Argo" also caught the fancy of the Hollywood Foreign Press, earning TK nominations, including Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director (Ben Affleck) and Best Supporting Actor (Alan Arkin). Other big 2013 honorees include "Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Zero Dark Thirty."

On the TV side, a familiar crew -- "The Newsroom," "Homeland" and "Breaking Bad" -- will compete for Best Television Series - Drama.

The 70th Golden Globes 2013 ceremony will take place Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have signed on as co-hosts. The Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Last year, "The Artist" won Best Picture, Musical or Comedy, and "The Descendants" took home the Golden Globe for Best Picture, Drama. "Modern Family" and "Homeland" got the nods on the TV side.

Here's what the HFPA has to say about itself:

[T]he HFPA was originally comprised of a handful of LA based overseas journalists who sought to bridge the international community with Hollywood, and to provide distraction from the hardships of war through film. Sixty-eight years later, members of the HFPA represent 55 countries with a combined readership of 250 million in some of the world’s most respected publications. Each year, the organization holds the third most watched awards show on television, the Golden Globe® Awards, which have enabled the organization to donate more than $12 million to entertainment related charities and scholarship programs.
