Clara Van Wel, Teen Singer-Songwriter, Wins 'New Zealand's Got Talent' (WATCH)

See Why This Teen Just Won 'New Zealand's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

If 14-year-old Clara Van Wel was nervous the first time she took the "New Zealand's Got Talent" stage, she certainly didn't show it. The young teen surprised judges and audience alike when she sang her own original song for her audition piece -- and she stood out as one of the top acts on the show. Watch the video above to see her beautiful performance.

She explains, "I get most of my inspiration from books, which seems silly, because I haven't been in a real relationship yet."

Clara's talent proved strong enough to make it through to the next episode -- and all the episodes after that. In fact, this past week, shortly after her 15th birthday, she was crowned the winner. Her debut single, "Where Do You Find Love," which she also wrote herself, will be released on Friday.

Like Clara in New Zealand, 13-year-old "X Factor" contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar is taking America by storm. Her most recent performance of "Rolling in the Deep" elicited unanimously positive comments from the judges.
