DIY Nail Art: Chanel Spring 2013 'Tweed' Manicure (PHOTO)

With this DIY nail art, it's certainly possible.

It's already December and invites to Christmas and New Year's Eve parties are filling up my inbox. And while I'd love to just wear the same sequin dress to each affair, my friends' need to document every moment on Instagram and Twitter makes that impossible. So, I've discovered another way to show off my love for all things sparkle.

Taryn Multack, aka Miss Ladyfinger, translated Karl Lagerfeld's reinterpretation of '90s skirtdresses into this multicolored manicure. She used a combination of pink, purple and blue nail polishes to mimic the tweed fabric that the French fashion house is famous for. And though this is a spring-inspired design we think the rich and shiny hues work perfect for the holidays. Scroll down for Miss Ladyfinger's six simple steps to get this dazzling nail art.

1. Start with a full magenta-violety nail using Nails Inc. Holland Park.2. Draw on horizontal lines in Love & Beauty Iridescent Blue (a shimmery dark blue).3. Using a white nail art brush, create one to three staggered vertical lines to get the tweed look.4. Paint pink horizontal lines using Maybelline Color Show Pink Shock across the visible purple.5. Add a sparkly shade of purple in Estee Lauder Pure Color Smashed over the white lines.6. Seal the manicure with top coat.
