Who does Coldplay frontman Chris Martin think could raise the most money for charity? None other than his bassist, Guy Berryman. Or maybe not.
“A date with our bass player would be worth a million or more, specifically a night with our bass player," Martin was quoted as saying by the U.K. newspaper The Sun. “You know the film 'Indecent Proposal?' For next year’s fundraiser we’re thinking of something like that.”
Commonly referred to as "the handsome one," Berryman's good looks have even inspired a Tumblr page titled, "How could something so beautiful be so humanoid?"
Of course, Martin could have been kidding about his plans for Berryman. HuffPost Entertainment followed up with Coldplay's representation and is awaiting confirmation about the auction.
While he may not end up at the center of this fund-raising endeavor, the 34-year-old Berryman led Coldplay's artwork auction last week with other band members. Benefitting at-risk youth in London, the auction featured original art by Coldplay members from the band's "Mylo Xyloto" album.
At the end of this month, Coldplay will perform its final three concerts of 2012. (Good timing since the end of this month is the end of 2012.) It was announced this fall that the band will join Jay-Z for a New Year's Eve performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
