Man Dies After After Allegedly Being Pushed In Front Of Q Train In Midtown

Man Dead After Being Pushed In Front Of Train

An unidentified man died Monday after being struck by a New York City subway train. Authorities believe he was pushed onto the tracks.

Officials confirmed he was struck by a southbound Q train at the 49th Street station at roughly 12:30PM.

AM New York reports the man was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition, but later died.

Police say they are still investigating the circumstances around the man's death, but a NYPD spokesman said, "It's looking more like he was pushed."

A train conductor says the victim and the suspect may have been arguing before the victim was pushed.

Other witnesses say the suspect quickly fled the station.

Police have shutdown the station to investigate.
