Grammy nominations have been announced, with Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Frank Ocean, Gotye, fun. and many more among the honorees.

The 2013 Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will be broadcast exclusively by CBS.

Notable surprises included the omission of One Direction, Carly Rae Jepsen and Gotye in the Best New Artist category. Frank Ocean picked up multiple nominations, an expected development given the strength of his debut studio album, "channel ORANGE."

Kelly Clarkson also jumped out in front early, earning nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Record of the Year in the early portion of the nominations broadcast.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 10 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. According to the Grammys, the award telecast was viewed by 39.9 million viewers last year -- the largest TV audience since in nearly 30 years. A record 160,341 related tweets-per-minute were fired off during the broadcast.

Big winners at last year's Grammys included Kanye West and Adele, who took home a combined ten awards.

The nominations were announced during the Grammy Nominations Concert Live!, co-hosted by Taylor Swift and LL Cool J. Photos of nominees and our live blog of the nominations concert is available below.

What's Record of the Year? Here you go:

The category celebrates the achievement of the artist as well as the producers, mixers and engineers who worked on the track, unlike Song of the Year, which awards only writers.

Gotye won Record of the Year; he accepted the award from Prince, obviously.
