Love Setbacks Haven't Detoured Eva Longoria From Smiling (PHOTOS)

Some may say 2012 didn’t treat Eva Longoria well in matters of love. But it seems not even two unsuccessful relationships, one with actress Penelope Cruz’s brother, Eduardo Cruz, and the second withNew York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez, haven't put a dent in this Mexican-American beauty's ability to enjoy life and smile.

What better way to do that than spend time in the company of her best friends? Longoria and some of her pals enjoyed the beach, sun and fun on Mexican soil last month.

The actress chose the beautiful beaches of Puerto Vallarta, where she and her companions, traveled to celebrate a friend's birthday. The group stayed at the exclusive Hotel Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa, where Longoria was spotted looking cheerful and relaxed.

The "Desperate Housewives" star swam in the resort's pool, splashed in the Pacific waves, had lunch on the beach, got pampered in the spa and delighted her palate with exquisite dishes. The group stayed in one of the resort's five-thousand-square-foot suites with a balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Madre mountains.

After the amazing holiday, Longoria wrote on her Twitter account:

“Can´t thank the staff of @garzablancapvr enough for their incredible service during our stay! Can't wait to go back!”

Now that she is back home, the A-List Hollywood actress is preparing to take on a new role in “Married and Cheating”, a romantic comedy about three different couples with infidelity in common.

If we have learned something from celebrities it may be that while some shy away and cloister at home after setbacks, a handful can make the best out of challenges. Eva's year may have been tough, but sure knows how to end it in a grand way.
