Brooklyn Parlor, New York-Style Cafe In Tokyo, Attempts Hipster Aesthetic (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Brooklyn Hipster Dining At Home In Tokyo

Walk into Brooklyn Parlor and you'll find walls of warmly-lit wooden paneling and exposed brick, shelves lined with books, industrial-style metal tables, modern chairs and myriad other design elements worthy of the most hipster-esque establishments. Lounge for a bit in an overstuffed leather couch and take in the scenery -- you might forget for a moment that you're actually in Tokyo, Japan.

The cafe, lauded by several publications as a more-than-decent rendering of a Brooklyn hangout, boasts an ever-changing menu with plenty items befitting of its namesake. Brooklyn Lager from Brooklyn Brewery is available on draft, and past offerings include dishes like lamb stew, Cuban panini, roast chicken with potatoes and gravy, proscuitto and salami plates, requisite hamburgers with bacon, avocado and cheddar cheese and a number of signature cocktails.

The eatery's interior appears to be spacious -- a rarity in Tokyo (and Brooklyn) -- and books are available in a variety of languages, which tells us that expatriates have a way of finding themselves here.
