That this mistake by receiver Denarius Moore didn't seem surprising, shows just how far the Oakland Raiders have fallen.
Facing a 1st and 10 on Denver's 26-yard line, Carson Palmer connected with Moore with a short pass in the middle of the field. The receiver fell while reeling it in but went to the ground untouched. When Moore got back to his feet, he started running the wrong way and was taken down closer to the line of scrimmage.
Luckily for Oakland (and maybe some fantasy owners in close games), the refs ruled that his forward progress had resulted in a six-yard gain. Thanks to Deadspin, we can watch Moore inexplicably run the wrong way over and over again.
The Raiders actually managed to score a touchdown just four plays later, but went on to lose 26-13 for their sixth straight loss. While this gaffe may not have been out of character for the Raiders, it didn't go entirely unnoticed on Twitter.
