Greg Bryant To Notre Dame: Prized Class Of 2013 Recruit Verbally Commits To Irish

Greg Bryant, who originally committed to Oklahoma earlier this year but reopened his recruitment over the summer, has given a verbal pledge to Notre Dame.

The American Heritage-Boca-Delray High School (Delray Beach, Fla.) running back committed to Notre Dame at the end of his official visit on campus Sunday. The 5-11, 197-pound Class of 2013 product chose the Irish over the Sooners, Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina. He is the 22nd verbal commitment in Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly's 2013 class. Currently, Notre Dame's 2013 class is shaping up to be a Top 10 and possible Top 5 haul.

Bryant rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns this season and over 3,500 yards and 42 touchdowns in the past two seasons.

The Irish will lose top running backs Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood after this season, so bringing in a talent such as Bryant comes at the right time. The Irish also remain in play for fellow top running back Tarean Folston, although it will be interesting to see if he looks elsewhere now with Bryant committing to play in South Bend.
