Kate Winslet Wears A Fascinator To Hong Kong International Races, Reminds Us She's British (PHOTOS)

No, seriously.

When we caught a glimpse of Kate Winslet wearing a gold fascinator over the weekend, our first thought was: oh yah, she's British!

The actress has become such a bonafide Hollywood heavyweight that it's easy to forget that her roots are across the pond -- what would we do without sartorial social cues? But on to the hat itself. While attending the Hong Kong International Races with boyfriend Ned Rocknroll, Kate opted for an ornate fascinator, the headgear of choice for Pippa Middleton and the rest of the British royal clan (just not during the Royal Ascot, thank you very much).

Now we know fascinators tend to be out of the box, but the 37-year-old actress seems to making a habit of these strange toppers. Remember the feathered number she wore just last month to meet Queen Elizabeth II? We're not millinery experts, but Kate is definitely pushing the limits of what makes a hat.

Don't get us wrong though. We're not exactly sounding any worst-dressed alarms à la Princess Beatrice's royal wedding fascinator-gate or Sarah Jessica Parker's over-the-top attempt to edge her way into the Brit trend. In fact, we're going to go out on a limb here and say that Kate looks as good as one can look with a lacy, gilded rose thing atop one's head. Plus, she was at the races -- oh, and she's British.

Check out Kate Winslet taking in the races in her gold fascinator and tell us what you think: yay or nay?
