Madonna has reportedly outsold Lady Gaga in South America, where the latter offered ticket deals in order to fill a stadium.
The Asociación Peruana de Autores y Compositores first reported on Gaga's flagging sales in Lima (she only sold 17,000 tickets for a 55,000 capacity venue), which the Examiner then contextualized by noting that Madonna's tickets are often up to three times as expensive. Madonna's concert sold out organically.
If the figures hold up, it's just another wrinkle in a long-brewing feud. Madonna has continued to stoke the flames of controversy, telling concertgoers in November that Gaga rejected a duet proposition. In September, Madonna said she "loves" Lady gaga, but followed that up with "imitation is the highest form of flattery."
The bad blood started when Madonna said she felt Gaga's "Born This Way" was a reductive version of her own "Express Yourself."
Lady Gaga, however, has scored some wins of her own: The singer announced Monday that she'll be performing with the Rolling Stones on Dec. 15.
