Meredith Vieira Returns To 'General Hospital'

Meredith Vieira's Big Return

Meredith Vieira is a soap opera star! Who knew? We didn't! But we like it.

Vieira will return to "General Hospital" this month and revive her role as madame Bree Flanders, the owner of an upscale escort service. Vieira originated the role 10 years ago and returns on Friday, Dec. 14.

According to Vieira's interview with TV Guide, Flanders is no longer a madame but a vice president at a cosmetics company. "It's all sales," she quipped about her character's career change.

A former "View" and "Today" show co-host, Vieira left the NBC morning program in June 2011. She was replaced by Ann Curry, who was ousted in a messy TV shake-up just one year later. Vieira still hosts "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" and returned to the NBC morning show during the network's coverage of the 2012 London Olympics. She also searched for spirits on SyFy's "Ghost Hunters" last year.
