American Country Awards 2012: Red Carpet Fashion Straight From Las Vegas (PHOTOS)

Not that we should've expected anything less.

The 2012 American Country Awards* took place on Monday night, a fact you might not have known unless you were somewhere within the vicinity of Las Vegas -- in which case the glitter and sequins and bronzer radiating from the awards ceremony at Vegas' Mandalay Bay would have blinded you and now you can't see anyway. (Sorry about that.)

Save for the befuddling fact that an evening celebrating country music took place in Las Vegas and not Nashville, everything about the evening was Vegas-appropriate. Carrie Underwood wore a sequin-covered backless minidress, Miranda Lambert covered herself in zebra-esque stripes, Kristen Chenoweth wore (among other things) silver pants and we spied at least one ombre bandage dress.

The most toned-down looks of the night, in fact, belonged to Carmen Electra, who donned two cut-out gowns with nary a sequin in sight. Take that as you will.

Put on those sunglasses and soak up the 2012 American Country Awards red carpet in our slideshow.

*Not to be confused with the Academy Of Country Music Awards held in April or the Country Music Association Awards held in November. Taylor Swift's social calendar must be nuts.
