When she was eight years old, Camryn started singing professionally -- but the 13-year-old pop star is quick to note that she's been a musician practically since she learned to talk. Now just entering her teen years, Camryn has already amassed a sizable social following, toured with Cody Simpson, Greyson Chance and One Direction, and recorded a handful of infectious, dance-worthy pop-rock tracks. HuffPost Teen recently sat down with Camryn at our New York offices to get the scoop on what it was like to be on tour, favorite artists and advice for aspiring performers.

HuffPost Teen: Do you have any funny stories from touring with One Direction or Cody Simpson?

Camryn: For the Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance tour, I did a lot of pranking, whether it was me getting pranked, which usually happened, or me pranking the boys. That was so much fun on stage. I put my posters on Greyson's piano, so once he took the cloth off it just said Camryn, so that was pretty awesome. One Direction, I didn't really get the opportunity to hang out with them a lot, but when I did, they were so sweet and really cool guys.

You're really big on Twitter. How do you use your account to interact with your fans?

A lot of my fans are all around the world, so Twitter for me is a great way to kind of connect to them on their time. So, whether it's midnight my time and morning theirs, we still get to connect and ask questions. But my main thing on Twitter is going to the top stories, and that's kind of how I connect to everybody else. Like, “Did you guys hear about this or this? How do you feel?” That's how I use Twitter a lot.

Did you use social media to build your fanbase?

From when I was nine years old until my first tour, we had gone on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace -- everything social media-related -- and we were kind of starting to build my fan base slowly. That's how it's so big now, because we've been building it for awhile.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians who are trying to use social media to create their own fan base and get their stuff out there?

I would just say to not give up because if you let people get in your way, then it's your fault for letting them get to you –- not theirs.

What songs and artists are you really obsessed with right now?

Right now, I'm actually obsessed with Carrie Underwood's new song, “Blown Away.” I love that song. And a lot of The Lumineers, Frank Ocean, Rihanna -- just all the usual suspects... And I looove Ed Sheeran. Actually obsessed. [My favorite songs] are “You Need Me And I Don't Need You” or “Give Me Love” or “Small Bump.” I. Love. Ed. Sheeran. He's an amazing writer, amazing songs.
