'Arrested Development' Production Halted, Will Resume With New Episode Order

"Arrested Development" production has been halted, according to Deadline.com. But there's a good reason behind it: to increase the episode count.

As HuffPost TV previously reported, the episode count for "Arrested Development's" Netflix season has grown from the original 10. Deadline.com reports the number of episodes in Season 4 could reach 15.

In August, David Cross, Tobias Funke to "Arrested Development" fans, told "Rolling Stone" that "there's too much" story and that the episode count would likely expand.

Series creator Mitch Hurwitz is said to be using the delay in production to review additional footage and suss out how much new filming is necessary to complete the story. Once he's done, the actors will have to be secured before production can be resume, which will likely happen in late January 2013.
