Titlis Cliff Walk: Europe's Highest Suspension Bridge Opens (PHOTOS)

Behold what is believed to be Europe's latest highest suspension bridge, the Titlis Cliff Walk.

Built some 10,000 feet above sea level, the more than 300-foot bridge celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Engelberg-Gerschnialp cableway over Mt. Titlis in central Switzerland, according to The Telegraph. For the more faint of heart, visitors can still take the famous cable car up the mountain.

Ursula Beamish, a spokeswoman for Switzerland Tourism, told NBC News: “It’s going to be really big next summer as a high-adrenaline kind of new adventure in Switzerland." Swiss Tourism hopes for an onslaught of tourists, and told the news outlet that visitor interest has already been "tremendous." The bridge opened to the public December 7.

It took five months and nearly 1 million pounds to build and, despite its length, the bridge is only three feet wide, Yahoo reports.

This is certainly the cooles t-- and scariest -- bridge we've seen in a while. This summer, Taiwan showed off the Xiying Rainbow Bridge, which, as you might have guessed, lit up the water below like a rainbow at night. There's certainly a variety of aesthetically-pleasing bridges throughout the world as well as quite a few scary ones, but this new suspension bridge takes the cake for adventure travel junkies.
