'Arrow': The Identity Of The Dark Archer Is Revealed (VIDEO)

'Arrow': Who Is The Dark Archer?

The writers and producers of "Arrow" probably could have milked the suspense through the rest of this first season, but instead they decided to reveal the mysterious Dark Archer in the show's last episode before its holiday break. While the identity of the Dark Archer may not have been a huge surprise, it was still a fun twist that adds some wrinkles to Oliver's quest.

After telling Oliver that the man who wrote the list of names wants him dead, the Dark Archer was revealed to be Tommy's father, Malcolm Merlyn. There's some kind of deep conspiracy involving him and Oliver's mother, but his statement about the list is Oliver's more immediate concern.

Oliver had always assumed it was a list his father had made of all the powerful and corrupt men in Starling City that needed to be taken down to save the city from itself. But if the writer of the list is still alive and wants Oliver dead, then who wrote it? Things aren't nearly as black and white as everyone thought.

On a fun note, Malcolm also threw out a name suggestion for the hooded vigilante: Green Arrow. Oliver quickly rejected it, though. It was a nice little nod to fans of the DC Comics character the show is based on, who's proudly gone by Green Arrow for decades.
